She Lay Alone

She lay alone

On a bed of stone

So it felt in that moment of fear

Waiting for death

The devil within

Starts clawing and drawing near

He stands at a distance

His feelers extend

She stares at the stars as they glisten

Not knowing how

To move from this bed

As he whispers gently in her ear

Paralyzed

Bloody

Gasping for air

Nothing will ever bring it back

Its over now

With blood dripping down

His fingers run down her back

Helpless

Hopeless

Screaming in pain

No one comes back to rescue her

She rebuilds herself

Her future

Her destiny

One day it will reconcile this horrid

One day it won’t hurt this much

That day is far

A decade perhaps

But it will happen

This pain won’t last
